Historic Honesdale's Harvest and Heritage Days
Come out and enjoy Historic Honesdale’s annual event, Harvest and Heritage Days, on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13, 2019. Wayne Bank and the Honesdale Community Church are our Platinum Sponsors. Citizens Savings Bank is our Bronze Sponsor with support from the Pocono Mountain Vacation Bureau and PPL. Immerse in autumn activities for the whole family. Take time to see all the historic buildings and various architecture that our historic town boasts.

So much is planned for this fun fall Columbus Day weekend. There are games and activities for the children in Central Park from 11 AM to 3 PM, plus pumpkin painting on Main Street. Explore the greater Honesdale area, which offers wonderful shops, eateries, and fine services. Honesdale’s Main Street is eight blocks long with something to interest you on every block!  

Craft vendors will line Main Street on both days from 10 AM - 5 PM. Old-fashioned hayrides will be offered downtown, for a small fee, from 1 to 5 PM on Saturday and from 12-4 PM on Sunday. Blacksmith Paul Janusz will also be showcasing his craft of manipulating iron with heat and hammer in the courtyard of R-3 Hardware store at 541 Main Street. In the parking lot of Scarfalloto’s Town House Diner, watch as Chainsaw Carver Larry Wildenstein creates works of art out of logs.

The Wayne County Historical Society Museum on Main Street is open from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, and from 12-4 PM on Sunday. There are many interesting things to learn about Wayne County and our rich history!

Plan on taking a train ride on Saturday at 12 & 3 and the TrainIn Movie at 5:30 PM. On Sunday, the train leaves the station at 12, 3, and 5 PM. We invite you to visit the Wayne County Farmers’ Market on Saturday, October 12, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM where you will find fresh produce, flowers, plants, herbs, and many more locally grown and handmade items. The market is in front of Dave’s Super Duper at 200 Willow Avenue (Rte. 6), Honesdale.

Stop by the Fred Miller Pavilion (on Main Street) on Saturday and Sunday to listen to DJ Tom Emanski from 11-4. And for the kids, there will be pumpkin painting on Saturday near the Honesdale National Bank’s Corporate Center on Main Street. Pumpkin painting will be available on Saturday, from 10 AM till 2 PM, sponsored by the Wayne County YMCA.

And you’ll want to make the time for a tour of our historic Old Stone Jail. Hear about escapes and hangings! The jail is located next to the rear of the Wayne County Court House off Court Street by our beautiful Central Park and will be open on Saturday from 10...
